Guernsey - post office with limited liability
On 1 October 2001 Guernseys postal administration was converted into a society with limited liability. Effects it will give particularly on the postal sector, where decisions can be more rapidly made now. With the philatelic sector no changes are to be expected. The local parliament, the States, remains however exclusive shareholder.

Sark - old post office burned down
The former post office on Sark burned in the middle of out May 2001. The Baker family had organized the post office supply of the island from here from approximately 50 years long. Further details and more photos find you on the Sark Tourismus Page.
Jersey - branch post office Quennevais shifts
The lease for the branch post office Quennevais ran out in September 2000. There was it only being obvious that the jersey post office accepted an offer of "CO-OI" to accommodate the post office in the new shop in "talks Houses". The new location is only few steps distant from the old. Etc. there were changes with postmarks none.
Guernsey - branch post offices closed
On 31 October 2000 on Guernsey the branch post offices Ville outer Roi, Torteval and St. Saviours were closed. It lacked post office employees for these small offices, and in addition the consumer behaviour of the post office customers changed in the last years completely, so that the smaller branch post offices keep house since longer unprofitable.
There are again labels of Brecqhou
The postal law of Guernsey forbids the use of private labels as additional postage. This does not seem to prevent the tenants of the island Brecqhou however to do it nevertheless. You find all further in addition approximately on the Homepage around the new labels.
£3-Stamp from Guernsey
On 4 August 2000 the last value of the continuous series appeared "maritime Guernsey". It is to replace the £3-Stamp of the flower continuous series. One wants to cover changes of postage in the future not by new stamps, but by special issue stamps in appropriate postage stages.
