Jersey - special edition about the 18. Birthday of Prince William

To the 18. Birthday of Prince William published Jersey at the 21.06.2000 a series of 4 stamps. Although the stamps still were not at all available, there was already a "rustling in the newspapers" in the English press. One of the stamps shouldn't namely, like one in her/it Report from Jersey, that shows palace Caernarvon in Wales, reads but rather Close Beaumaris (also in Wales).
Since however, the name of the palace wasn't noted at all on the stamp, the whole one appears- movement a little artificial, to be, maybe even a consciously provoked promotion-gimmick.

Sub-Post-Office Grouville in Jersey closed

At the 16. July 2000 the small Sub-post office into Grouville was locked. The Sub-post office suffers for a long time of lacking utilization, since the traditional services of the office, namely this Pension-disbursement and money transfers, has been replaced long ago through more modern payment-forms.

Jersey introduces bar-codes

Since January 2000, bar-codes are found on all the FDC's, Presentation pack and other products, where this possible is. Bar-codes become in the course of the year also in the bow-edges of the new one(s) for the first time Brand-editions appear. Only the block-editions will remain spared from it (for optical reasons).
