RESEARCH-COMMUNITY CHANNEL-ISLANDS & ISLE OF MAN
The FGCI is a registered club of philatelists from the collective-areas of GUERNSEY, JERSEY and ISLE OF MAN. We have approximately 100 Members at present in 13 countries, the bulk of it in the German-language one Area.
We are called officially "Forschungsgemeinschaft Kanalinseln und Insel Man, e.V.". As our club was established in 1975, it studied at first only with the canal-islands and was called "Forschungsgemeinschaft Channel Islands", abbreviated "FGCI". We became under this abbreviation known, and there were 1980 to our 5-year old existence one even each quite official special-stamps in Guernsey and Jersey with our then one Names. Among other things also therefore, our abbreviation remained "FGCI", as the "Isle of Man" in our "long" name was integrated.
Members of the FGCI expected .........
- a yearly-contribution from Euro 20.- (and no further costs, like reception-charge, etc.)
- 2-3times in the year "DIE INSELRUNDSCHAU". That is our circular current as well News and interesting compartment-articles about miscellaneous topics. The content ours last island-magazine program is last circular to be found on the Web-side.
- annual meetings in Germany (usually at the edge of a big philatelic Event)
- annually one exchange-day in Austria (Area Vienna)
- annually additionally a meeting of the IOM-Team in Germany with thematic priority "Isle of Man"
- we already organized group-trips privately on the islands and want repeat this from time to time;
- we give as well as. arranges help, "advice & action" of all questions to the collective-area, provided possibly;
- free small-ads in our circular and in the "Bazar" of these Web-side
